For Windows 2000 Users

Getting Started
  The Q-Scan Driver CD-ROM is needed to complete this installation.

Windows 2000 Installation Procedure

  1. Plug Q-Scan Scanner into the system's USB port.
  2. Start your PC normally. Upon power up, the system will indicate to 
     you that new "Q-Scan Scanner" hardware has been found. Press "Next" to continue.
  3. Insert the Q-Scan driver CD-ROM into CD-ROM drive.
  4. When the system asks for driver location, assign "D:\win2000" as driver location. 
     (Assume the drive D: is your CD-ROM drive contains Q-Scan driver CD-ROM)
  5. Ignore the message that "This driver is not certified by Microsoft¡K" and
     continue the installation procedure until completion.
  6. The use of Q-Scan on Windows 2000 is the same as on Windows 98.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
