IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

*  This driver supports the Siemens OfficeLAN PCI 10/100 TX Fast Ethernet
    Adapters.

*  This driver conforms to the Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS)
    v2.0.1 defined by Microsoft/3Com. The driver has been tested with
    Microsoft LAN Manager, 3Com 3+Open, IBM LAN Server, IBM PC LAN
    Program, DEC Pathworks, and other NDIS-compatible network operating
    systems and protocol stacks.

*  Make sure that the adapter line speed matches the speed of
    the hub to which it is attached.

DEVICE DRIVER INSTALLATION GUIDE
=============================================================================

The following instructions describe automatic installation with the LAN
 Manager Setup program and manual installation.

*  Automatic installation using the LAN Manager Setup Program:

1.  In the \LANMAN directory, start the setup program.

2.  In the Main Menu, select <Configuration>.

3.  In the Configuration Menu, select <Network Driver>.

4.  Use <Remove Configuration> to remove the old adapter .

5.  Select <Add Configuration>.

6.  Select <Other Drivers> and follow the directions on the screen.

*  Manual Installation for DOS LAN Manager

If LAN Manager is already installed and configured, and you do not wish to
 use the Setup program, use the following instructions for manual
 installation.

1.  Create a directory for the L100 driver:

      Path:

     <DRIVE>:\LANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\L100

2.  Copy the L100.DOS and PROTOCOL.INI files from the ConfigDisk to
       the new directory:

      Path:

      \MSLANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\L100\L100.DOS
      \MSLANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\L100\PROTOCOL.INI

     <DRIVE>:\LANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\L100


3.  Copy the L100.NIF file to the \LANMMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\NIF
       directory.

      Path:

      \MSLANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\NIF\L100.NIF

      <DRIVE>:\LANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\NIF

4.  Add the following lines to your CONFIG.SYS file:

DEVICE=<DRIVE>:\LANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\L100\L100.DOS
DEVICE=<DRIVE>:\LANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\PROTMAN\PROTMAN.DOS  /I:C:\LANMAN.DOS

5.  Copy the PROTOCOL.INI stub from the ConfigDisk to
      the end of the old PROTOCOL.INI file. The stub contains:


6.  Modify the TCPIP_XIF and NETBEUI_XIF modules in the PROTOCOL.INI
      file, changing the keyword BINDINGS value from:

       BINDINGS = driverlabel

       to

       BINDINGS = L100_NIF

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
