SHUTTLE COMPUTER FLASH EEPROM BIOS UPDATE:

Hat das Flash-EPROM Ihres HOT-523 oder HOT-543 Mainboards die Aufschrift
SST, so wird Jumper 14 auf 2-3 gestellt, damit die die Programmierspannung
5 V betr„gt (default). In diesem Fall programmieren Sie mit FLASH.EXE.
In seltenen F„llen ist das Board mit einem CSI 12V Flash-EPROM bestckt.
Hier muá Jumper 14 auf 1-2 gestellt werden und mit F12.EXE programmiert
werden.
Im folgenden wird die Installation erl„utert.
1.) Kopieren Sie flash.exe und das entsprechende Bin„rfile von der
Diskette auf die Festplatte.
2.) Entfernen Sie jegliche EMS-Treiber (wie z.B. EMM386 etc.) aus
Ihrer config.sys - Datei.
3.) Starten Sie dann Ihr System neu und wechseln in das BIOS - Setup.
4.) Im Fenster BIOS FEATURES SETUP stellen Sie den externen Cache
auf disabled.
5.) Booten sie Ihr System neu und starten das Flash-Programm.
6.) Sie mssen den Namen des Bin„rfiles angeben (je nach Mainboard
523R11.bin oder 543R11.bin) und haben auáerdem die M”glichkeit,
das alte BIOS zu sichern.
7.) Wenn das neue BIOS geladen ist, wird automatisch ein Reset
durchgefhrt und der Rechner neu gestartet.
8.) Sie sollten zur Sicherheit alle Setup-Einstellungen noch einmal
kontrollieren.

Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
