   PD/CD-ROM DEVICE DRIVER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS 95
=========================================================================

This software package is for the installation of the IBM ATAPI PD/CD-ROM
device driver under Windows 95. This package consists of the
following three files.

PDVSD.VXD
README.TXT    (Device Driver Installation Instructions)
README2.TXT   (Media Formatting Instructions)

NOTE:
In order to use the PD or CD-ROM functions from MS-DOS mode (ie. by
restarting the computer in MS-DOS mode) you must install additional
DOS device drivers. After completing the INSTALLATION PROCEDURE, refer
to the MS-DOS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS below.

=========================================================================
                        INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
=========================================================================

1. Copy the PDVSD.VXD file into the following directory:

         C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS

2. Remove the driver diskette from your system and re-boot your
   system.

assigned to your PD/CD-ROM. One drive letter will represent the PD drive

                    MS-DOS INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
=========================================================================

The installation of the DOS CD-ROM or PD drivers are only necessary if
you plan on using the CD-ROM or PD drive under DOS (ie. by restarting the
computer in MS-DOS mode). The following DOS device drivers are
available on the CD-ROM disc provided with your system.

ATAPIDV.SYS    (E-IDE I/F ASPI manager)
MSDRVR.SYS     (PD Device Driver)
MCDATAPD.SYS   (CD-ROM Device Driver)

NOTE:
Installation of the DOS PD device driver is NOT recommended if you will
be using Win95. Installation of the DOS PD device driver when using Win95
may cause two PD removable media icons to appear on your desktop. The first
icon will not allow access to the drive while the second icon will allow
drive access and function normally.
