            FORMATTING PD MEDIA USING OS/2
=========================================================================

There are two format types available for PD media when using OS/2.
We recommend using FDISK FAT format for compatibility purposes.
The two format types are:

   - FDISK FAT
   - SFD (Super Floppy Disk, also known as DOS/Windows format)

To format your media as FDISK FAT a utility called PDFORMAT.EXE is
available. This utility will do the following:

   - Format an unformatted disk as FDISK FAT
   - Re-format a previously formatted disk as FDISK FAT

To use this utility refer to FORMATTING PD MEDIA AS FDISK FAT below.

OS/2 format will do the following:

   - Format an unformatted disk as SFD
   - Re-format a previously formatted disk as SFD

To use OS/2 format refer to the section below called FORMATTING PD MEDIA
AS SFD.

Below is a matrix showing the different operating systems and the formats
supported by each operating system. If your data disks are to be shared
with computers using an operating system different than your own, please
refer to this matrix for compatibility.
