              FORMATTING PD MEDIA FOR WINDOWS NT 3.51
=========================================================================

Windows NT can ONLY read and write PD media that has been formatted as
FDISK FAT format or NTFS format. The following process must be
followed when formatting PD media that has been previously formatted with
Super Floppy Disk (SFD) format (also known as DOS/WIN format) to FDISK
FAT format. It can also be used to reformat media that has been formatted
as FDISK FAT.

*************************************************************************
* NOTE: NTFS formatted media is viewed by your computer as a hardfile. *
* This format will lock the media in the drive and prevent any *
* media interchange. We do not recommend using this format. *
*************************************************************************

To format previously unformatted media, you should follow the steps
in the section called FORMATTING PREVIOUSLY UNFORMATTED PD MEDIA TO FDISK
FAT FORMAT.

Below is a matrix showing the different operating systems and the formats
supported by each operating system. If your data disks are to be shared
with computers using an operating system different than your own, please
refer to this matrix for compatibility.
