1) XIRCOM COMPACTCARD MODEM
   ========================

   This release of the Xircom CompactCard Modem 56 GlobalACCESS
   supports the following features:

   - 56K (v.90) modem

   - Worldwide homologations and approvals

   - Wireless GSM support for Nokia, Ericsson and Siemens GSM
     phones


2)  KNOWN LIMITATIONS    
    =================

     - Send / Receive fax with the Ericsson 788 phones works 
       intermittently.
	
     - In general, faxing in Palm PC's is application dependent. 
       Some applications only support the send function.

     - Wireless GSM connect speed is limited to 9600bps.

     - The uninstall function in the RealView application cannot 
       uninstall the modem while it is present in the computer.
       The card must be ejected prior to running the uninstall.

     - Use of the RealView flash function in Windows NT 4.0 can 
       result in damage to the card and is not recommended.

     - Hungary and Turkey, while supported by the modem 
       firmware, are not currently supported by the RealView 
       Country Select function.  The modem can be set to one 
       of these countries via the hyperterminal program by 
       following these steps:

       1. Open Hyperterminal
       2. Select the Xircom CompactCard Modem
       3. Enter AT+GCI=nn where nn equals the appropriate
          two digit country code listed in the following
          table:

          Country	GCI code

          Hungary         51
          Turkey          AE


3) WINDOWS 2000 INSTALLATION NOTES
   ===============================

   Windows 2000 currently does not contain information files 
   for the CFM56G.  The following steps will allow installation
   of the modem in Windows 2000:

   1. Insert the Xircom CD into the computer.
   2. If the CD autoloads, select "Install Software and 
      Documentation on This Computer".  This will install
      the software. Once this is complete, proceed to step 5.
   3. If the CD does not autoload, click START\RUN.  Browse to 
      the CD and select LAUNCHER.EXE.
   4. Select "Install Software and Documentation on This 
      Computer". This will install the software.
   5. When the software installation has completed the RealView 
      program will launch.  At this point insert the CFM56G.
   6. Windows 2000 will detect New Hardware and request the 
      drivers.
   7. When requested for the drivers, direct the request to the 
      root directory of the CD.
   8. At this point the CFM56G will be enumerated by the system 
      and RealView will detect it.  It may be necessary to 
      reboot the system before all RealView functions can access
      the modem.
