  Mail Version 1.10(US)
=========================================================

Important!
This program is designed to run on the following
CASSIOPEIA models only.
Never try to use this program on a device other than
those specified below.

Supported Model: BE-300

Mail is an application that lets you send and receive
mail over the Internet.

---------------------------------------------------------
About This Update
---------------------------------------------------------
<> Header Only Receive
This feature lets you pick up only the header
information of messages waiting on the mail server,
and delete specific messages without picking them up.
This means you can pick up only the messages you want.

<> With this update, you can configure your CASSIOPEIA
to terminal a dial-up connection immediately after
an e-mail send/receive operation. With previous
versions, automatic disconnect was performed about 30
seconds after the mail send/receive operation. With
this update, however, the dial-up connection can be
   disconnected automatically immediately, without
   waiting.

---------------------------------------------------------
To receive only headers first.
---------------------------------------------------------
1. On the Mail initial startup screen (account list screen),
   tap the [Send/Receive] button.

2. On the screen that appears, select (check) the
   following option.
[ ] Receive only headers first.

3. Now when you perform a mail pickup operation, only
header information is picked up first.

4. On the header list screen, select (check) either
the messages you want to pick up or the messages you
want to delete from the server.

5. Clicking the [Receive Body] button picks up the mail
messages you selected in step 4.
Tapping the [Delete] button deletes the mail messages
you selected in step 4, without picking them up.

Important!
    # Once you delete a mail message from your mail
server, there is no way to recover it.

    # Your CASSIOPEIA connects to the mail server to
receive header information. Make sure you are in a
quiet location where reception is stable.

---------------------------------------------------------
To configure the CASSIOPEIA for immediate disconnect
following a mail send/receive operation
---------------------------------------------------------
1. On the Mail initial startup screen (account list
   screen), tap the [Settings] button.

2. On the setup screen that appears, tap the [Auto]
   tab.

3. On the [Auto] tab, select (check) the "Disconnect
   after send/receive." option.

Turning on this option causes the dial-up connection to
be terminated immediately after an e-mail send/receive
operation, without displaying a confirmation message.

Important!
    # If you turn off the "Disconnect after
send/receive." option, the dial-up connection is
maintained after the e-mail send/receive operation
is complete. In this case, take care to make sure
you do not forget to disconnect manually.

---------------------------------------------------------
Operating Precautions
---------------------------------------------------------

<> Before using your CASSIOPEIA to send and receive mail,
you must first contract with an Internet Service
Provider (ISP). You also need to use Connections to
   configure the required connection settings.

<> Mail does not support mail exchange with an IMAP
   server.

<> Mail messages that are larger than 1MB, including
attachments, are not received. You should receive
such messages on your PC, so they are deleted from
   your mail server.

<> The maximum size of attachments for one mail message
   is 1MB total.

<> Mail messages with very long headers can cause mail
   receipt to fail.

<> Mail messages body text is cut off after 64 kbytes.

<> You can view an image attached to a mail message by
double-tapping the image file in the Mail application.
Image files that can be displayed by the Mail
   application are JPEG, CompuServe-GIF, Windows-BMP,
and PNG. Note that the maximum size image that can be
   displayed is 640 x 480 pixels.

<> Note that you cannot directly display HTML format
mail messages inside the Mail application. To display
an HTML format mail message, tap the [Html Mail]
button to start up the Browser application and view
   the mail message.

<> HTML mail messages sent from some mail software
(such as Netscape Messenger 4.X, etc.) may not be
   displayed properly.

<> Opening the folder can take some time when you have a
large volume of mail messages stored inside it.
If this happens, create more folders and move some of
the messages there, or move some messages to storage
   card folders.

<> Receipt of a large number of attached files or
receipt of a large volume of mail over a long time
can cause the user data storage area to become full,
and make it impossible to send or receive any more
memory. If this happens, delete mail messages you no
longer need or move some messages to a storage card
   to free up memory.

<> Data can be cut off or an error can occur if you use
the "Send to" function to send data to another
application, and the data is very long. When using
"Send to" to send data from Mail to Calendar, an
error may occur if the data is not exactly the
   correct format.
