Using the DeskPorte S External Modem with Windows 95
Note:The DeskPorte 14.4S External modem and the DeskPorte S
Internal modem do not offer Plug and Play compatibility.
Your DeskPorte S External modem is already Plug and Play compatible
with Windows 95 for 28,800 bps operation. To update your Windows 95
drivers to take full advantage of 33,600 bps operation, you need to
run the installation program. This updates your modem´s INF file.
To do this:
1. Copy the files to a diskette.
2. From the Windows 95 Start menu, choose Run.
3. Put the diskette in the floppy drive. Type a:\install, and click OK.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions. The new INF file is installed
first, so if you do not want to install Fax Works, you can cancel
the installation program once the INF file installation is completed.
5. Restart your PC for this change to take effect.
Installing FaxWorks.
Note: Be sure to connect your phone cable first, because the software
looks for a dial tone during installation.
1. Turn on your computer and modem, and put the diskette into the
diskette drive.
2. From the Windows 95 Start menu, choose Run, or
From the Windows 3.x Program Manager, choose File -> Run.
3. Type a:\install and click OK.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions for automatic installation.

Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
