If the currently installed Windows XP language is not one of the above choices, the installation will default to English. This release of the Wildcat Pro Display Driver will only install and run on systems running Windows XP Professional. Heidi(r) and 3D Studio Max(r) driver packages are included with this release on separate disks. For information on installing the Heidi(r) and 3D Studio Max(r) drivers, see the readme.txt files included on those disks. -------------------------- End of Version Information -------------------------- Installation Help ================= The Wildcat Pro Display driver will work with both AGP and AGP Pro versions of the Wildcat Display adapter. See MANIFEST.TXT for a list of delivered files. Please refer to the installation documentation provided with the media supplied with your system. If you are installing an updated driver from the 3Dlabs web site, please do the following: 1. Save the self-extracting .zip file to a temporary directory on the system hard drive. 2. Double-click the self-extracting zip file to unzip the driver files. These driver files are compressed and will be expanded during the installation process. NOTE: When re-installing Windows XP with a Wildcat Pro card installed in the system, the "Found New Hardware" dialog/wizard will not come up after the final boot into Windows XP. You must install the driver. Simply run the setup.exe program located with the Wildcat driver software, then reboot the system. The setup.exe program will install the driver for you. WINDOWS XP PLUG AND PLAY -------------------------- For driver installation and removal, refer to the Hardware section of the Windows XP online help. This Help is generally available by clicking on "Start" at the bottom left of the screen, and selecting the Help entry from the menu. Automated Installation Help =========================== NOTES: Make sure you have Windows XP Administrator privileges and write permission on the target machine, as the automated installation will create temporary directories on its hard drive. If you are installing a non-WHQL certified driver, you must set your Driver Signing Options to "Ignore" in order to prevent Windows XP from displaying a warning dialog. 1. Create an installation directory on your hard drive and then copy all installation files from the WCGDRV directory into your newly created directory on the hard drive. ( NOTE: Do not copy files from the HEIDI or 3DSMAX directories. These contain the Heidi(r) and 3D Studio Max(r) driver installations, respectively.) 2. Modify the setup.ini file to meet your specifications. 3. Run setup.exe. 4. Reboot the system. Unattended Installation Help ============================ To install the Wildcat Display driver as part of an unattended installation of Windows XP, execute the following steps. 1. Copy all driver files to a single directory in the $OEM$\$1\ path of the distribution directory (ex. d:\winXPdst\i386\$oem$\$1\wcgdrv). 2. Add the following sections to the unattend.txt file: [Unattended] OemPreinstall = yes OemPnPDriversPath = "wcgdrv" [Display] BitsPerPel = 32 XResolution = 1024 YResolution = 768 VRefresh = 75 3. Execute the unattended installation. NOTE: To bypass the digital signing check for a non-WHQL version of the driver, add the following entries to the unattend.txt file: [Unattended] DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore New Features ============ 06.06.00.03 - OpenML sync control extension supported.
