Installing Disk Manager(r) for Windows(tm) Software

Installation Overview
Disk Manager for Windows software must be installed onto your computer
before the program can be run.  A setup program will help you complete
the installation process.

To successfully install your hard disk, please follow these simple
steps:

   1) Physically install your hard disk into your computer. Disk
      Manager software will assume your power, cables, jumpers, etc.
      are connected and properly installed.
   2) Boot the computer.
   3) Run Windows.
   4) Insert your Disk Manager for Windows software diskette in drive
      A:.
   5) From Windows, run the "Setup" program located on the A: drive
      (which contains the Disk Manager for Windows software diskette).
   6) The setup program will display the following screen:
      "Disk Manager for Windows Software Installation".
   7) Press the "Next >" button to continue with the installation, or
      press the "Cancel" button to exit the installation.
   8) The next screen lets you choose the directory into which you
      wish to install Disk Manager for Windows software. You can
      either type in a directory path, or choose the "Browse" button
      to search your system for a directory.
   9) Once you have chosen a directory, press "Install" and the Setup
      program will install Disk Manager for Windows software.
  10) As Disk Manager for Windows software is being installed, a
      grow bar will show you the progress of the installation.
  11) Once the installation process is complete, the "Setup" program
      will restart Windows. If you have any unsaved data, please
      save it before pressing "OK".  Once you are ready to restart
      Windows, press "OK" and Windows will restart.
  12) Once Windows has restarted, it will automatically run Disk
      Manager for Windows software.


Installing Disk Manager Software for DOS

To successfully install your hard disk, please follow these simple
steps:

   1) Physically install your hard disk into your computer. Disk
      Manager software will assume your power, cables, jumpers, etc.
      are connected and properly installed.
   2) Insert your DOS diskette in drive A: and boot the machine. 
   3) Make a working copy of the Disk Manager software diskette. Use
      this working copy to install your hard disk. Keep the original
      diskette in a safe place.
   4) Insert your Disk Manager software diskette into drive A: and
      type DM for automatic installation of your hard disk.
   5) When the installation is complete, remove the Disk Manager
      software diskette from drive A: and boot from the hard disk.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
