Enhancements/Bugfixes:

1) Fixed Megaplex2 SDK dat file to wait for a command from BIOS before starging I2c bus access.

2) By pressing F1 key during initialization RACView displays its help instead of going into BIOS setup.  This problem is now fixed.

3) Press Ctrl+H for RACView Help shortcut.

MegaRAC Software Enhancements/Bugfixes:

1) Remote Flashing support moved from RACView to highly secure Remote Flash utility. 
   Prevents multiple session conflict. 

2) WebRACView - Users can use Internet Explorer 4.01 and above to connect to the Remote Access 
   Companion card. 

3) Windows 2000 support - The Megarac card can be used under the Windows 2000 Operating system.


4) RACCONF - New command line based utility for configuring the card instead of RACCFG. 
   Support across following platforms : Windows NT, Windows 2000, DOS.
   Consistent look and feel and operation across all platforms.



MegaRAC Firmware Enhancements/Bugfixes:
---------------------------------------


1) Highly secure Remote Flash support. Does not allow multiple session conflict.

2) Alerting support through EMail added. Administrators of the card can now choose to be alerted
    about conditions in the server through Email. 

3) The Remote Access Companion card now directly supports the SNMP protocol. Users can directly 
   connect to the card using an SNMP MIB Browser and configure various card parameters.

4) Terminal Server support. VT100 Terminal server support added. Users can connect to the card 
   through the serial port using any standard terminal emulator and perform various functions.



Known Problems and Limitations
------------------------------

a) Option ROM Configuration utility does not function with the Remote Access 
   Companion installed on an American Megatrends MegaDUAL motherboard.

   Hardware Platform : MegaDUAL motherboard	
   Host OS : n/a	


   Symptom
   -------	   
   Pressing CTRL+M during boot time to go into the configuration screen
   causes delay and reading of wrong configuration information from the card.	

   Solution
   --------	
   Bootup is normal and card functions normally	when CTRL+M option is ignored
   	


b) File transfer functionality is lost when Novell RAC Agents are unloaded during a transfer.

   Hardware Platform : n/a
   Host OS : Novell Netware versions 4.11 and 5.1	

   Symptom
   -------
   When a file transfer is initiated to a server running Novell Netware and 
   RAC agents are unloaded at this time, file transfer functionality is lost.	
   File transfer cannot be initiated even after reloading RAC agents.


   Solution
   --------
   Close RAC Console program
   Close all other connections to the Remote Access Companion  	      	   
   Reset the Remote Access Companion
   Restart the server	

  	   	
	

c) Shutting down a Novell server remotely causes RAC to be unavailable when the server
   is powered on again
    
    Hardware Platform : n/a
    Host OS : Novell Netware

    Symptom
    -------
    Initiate a shutdown of the server using the RAC Console, while the host is running
    Novell Netware.
    When the server is powered on again,a message stating that the RAC is not ready
    appears during bootup.

    Solution
    --------
    Reset the RAC by shorting reset jumpers and then powercycle the server.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
