MIB files for configuring the Remote Access Companion ===================================================== There are two MIB files in this CD. inband.mib ========== This MIB file represents the SNMP agent running on the server. Use this MIB file when connecting to the RAC SNMP agent running on Windows or Novell. When using a standard MIB broswer, connect to the host name or IP address if you are using this MIB to query or set values. outband.mib =========== This MIB file represents the SNMP agent running on the RAC itself. Use this MIB file when connecting to the RAC Card. When using a standard MIB browser, connect to the RAC IP address if you are using this MIB to query or set values. Differences in inband and outband MIB files =========================================== The outband MIB provides access to configuration information the card directly controls. For eg: Though it provides the health status for individual parameters it does not provide a calculated overall health status like the inband SNMP agent does. Caveats ======= When setting values under the Controls group using the outband.mib, please bear in mind a) CardShutdown This will cause the card to shutdown immediately and a response will not be sent to the MIB browser b) CardHardReset and CardSoftReset This will cause the card to reset and a response will not be received. In all the above cases , you will have to reconnect to the RAC.Download Driver Pack
