Introduction:
=============

  VIA Network Management Network Service (VMNS) is used for advanced network functions
,such as, aggregatation of multiple adapters and VLANs. 

Requirements
============

  1. The latest Linux driver of VIA VT6105M Rhine III Management Adapter must be
     installed before install VMNS.

  2. The VMNS can aggregate VIA VT6105M Rhine III Management Adapters only.

Usage:
======
          
  1. Unpack the whole package of VMNS.

     >tar xzmvf vmns-1.09.tgz

  2. Depends on Linux distrubitions, running the installation shell script 
     respectively.

     A. RedHat
        > cd VMNS-1.09
        > ./RedHat_setup.sh

     B. Turbo Linux
        >cd VMNS-1.09
        >./Turbo_setup.sh

     C. Open Linux (Caldera)
        >cd VMNS-1.09
	>./Caldera_setup

     D. SuSE Linux
        >cd VMNS-1.09
	>./SuSE_setup

  3. From the menu of setup program, select the "Install VMNS".


NOTES:

  1.The current release of this version of VMNS, can only running on Linux Redhat 7.2,
    Turbo Linux, SuSE Linux, Open Linux, and Linux kernel verison from 2.2.X to 2.4.X.

  2.This version of VMNS can only support VIA Network driver version for Linux
    version 4.0.4 or later.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
