Windows 98SE/ME driver installation refer to Section B.

A) Windows2000/XP Driver Installation
===================================

This document will present the steps needed to install or update the Drivers 
for USB 2.0 Fast Ethernet Adapter, 

1. Installing Drivers for the first time.
------------------------------------------
    a. Turn the computer ON.

    b. Run the Setup package Setup.exe from driver disk.

    c. Setup dialog will display "Press the "Install" button to install the drives. 
       To cancel the installation press Exit.".

    d. Press "Install" to start the installation.

    e. Now the installer will display a message "Installation is in
       Progress... Please Wait!"
    
    f. Then the installer should display 
       "Instllation Successfully Completed! No need to restart your Computer!
       If the Device is currently connected, unplug and again plug it in!. 
	   Press Exit to close the application.

    g. Click Exit to close the installer.

    h. Plug-in the USB 2.0 Fast Ethernet Adapter to the one of the USB port.
	
    i. Windows should detect the new USB device, and automatically 
       install the drivers for the new hardware connected.

    j. When the Windows desktop is displayed, the Driver installation is complete.

    k. Go to Network Control Panel Applet and you will see a new network device
       USB 2.0 Fast Ethernet Adapter.

    k. Assign an IP address for the USB 2.0 Fast Ethernet Adapter.
       e.g 192.168.200.66

    l. You should be able to ping and browse any other computer that is connected to 
       the network.

Notes:
------
    While installing drivers on windows 2000 and Windows XP,
    it is to be noted that user should click "Next" 
    directly, when the system O.S. reminds user that the provided drivers doesn't 
    have a digital signature.



2. Check Driver Installation.
------------------------------

    a. Open the Windows Device Manager
	i) Right-Click the My Computer icon on the Desktop.
	ii) Select Properties from the drop-down menu.
	iii) Click the Hardware tab.
	iv) Click the Device Manager button to show the current Hardware list.

    b. Confirm that the New Hardware has been included
       "USB 2.0 Fast Ethernet Adapter" in Network categery.

B) Windows98SE/ME Driver Installation
===================================

This document will present the steps needed to install or update the Drivers 
for USB 2.0 Fast Ethernet Adapter, 

1. Installing Drivers for the first time.
------------------------------------------
    a. Turn the computer ON.

    b. Run Setup.exe from Setup disk.
	
    c. Setup dialog will "Press "Install" button to install the drives. 
       To cancel the installation press Exit.".

    d. Press "Install" to start the installation.

    e. Now the installer will display a message "Installation is in
       Progress... Please Wait!"

    f. Then the installer should display 
       "Installation Successfully completed! If the device is 
       currently connected, unplug the device and again plug it in!" 
       Just remove the device and again connect the device on seeing 
       this  message. 

    g. Click Exit to close the installer.

    h. Plug-in the USB 2.0 Fast Ethernet Adapter to the one of the USB port.

    i. Windows should detect the new USB device, and automatically 
       install the drivers.
    
    j. Check Driver Installation.
	   
	   Open the Windows Device Manager
	   i) Right-Click the My Computer icon on the Desktop.
	   ii) Select Properties from the drop-down menu.
	   iii) Click the Hardware tab.
	   iv) Click the Device Manager button to show the current Hardware list.
	   v) Confirm that the New Hardware has been included
	      "USB 2.0 Fast Ethernet Adapter" in Network categery.

    k. Assign an IP address for the device. e.g 192.168.200.77

    l. Reboot the computer.

    m. You should be able to ping and browse any other computer that is connected to 
       the network.

Note:- If the device is connected before running the setup, Disconnect the device and Shutdown        and Restart the machine for silent installataion to take place.  
	

2. Check Driver Installation.
------------------------------

    a. Open the Windows Device Manager
	i) Right-Click the My Computer icon on the Desktop.
	ii) Select Properties from the drop-down menu.
	iii) Click the Hardware tab.
	iv) Click the Device Manager button to show the current Hardware list.

    b. Confirm that the New Hardware has been included
       "USB 2.0 Fast Ethernet Adapter"
       in Network categery.


NOTE:- 
 User should login into the machine with administrative rights, since the 
 installation of drivers requires the administrative privilages.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
