SilentTek and SilentBIOS
[Introduction]
"SilentTek" is an innovative technology of new generation AOpen
motherboards. It means "Silent Technology". The major purpose is to
control system noise, especially the noise comes from CPU fan. Not
only that, traditional Hardware Monitoring functions are also included
in SilentTek utility. If you are an overclocker, you may find SilentTek
very helpful. You may not only overclock your motherboard, but at the
same time, controlling noise below certain level. Some AOpen motherboards
also implement "SilentBIOS" technology, which controls noise before OS
boot, or during the Jukebox CD play time, and then pass the controlling
authority to "SilentTek".
NOTE: If you want to enable SilentBIOS, please always remember to enable
SilentTek as well. Otherwise, you may suffer CPU damage if no
controlling authority is taking control after OS boot.
[Required Operating Systems]
Windows SE/ME/NT/2000/XP
[Fan Noise Control]
1. Smart FAN Control:
This is the default setting of SilentTek and can be used for any
branded computer housing. With a special innovative algorithm
developed by AOpen, the fan speed is automatically adjusted by
the factors of CPU and ambient temperature. If you are not running
too many applications with heavy loading, you may find your CPU
fan is almost always running at zero RPM. Ease-of-use and trouble
free at your service.
2. Fix FAN Control:
In this setting, you may set a fixed rotation speed for each fan
you installed.
3. Multiple Control:
This is the most unconstrained setting, which allows you to be on
top of all details and set different rotation speed for different
temperature.
4. AOpen Recommend Setting:
This is the best setting to fit in with AOpen housing, SilentPC
would keep your system under the least quiet situation, and would
only lift the fan rotation speed for heat-dissipation when necessary.
According to our practical testing, we found that in most cases,
the fan would remain still when the CPU is not in full loading.
[CDROM Noise Control]
Some AOpen CDROM/CDRW/DVD drives have implemented speed control
function, when combined with SilentTek, you can control drive
speed to reduce noise.
[Hardware Monitoring Functions]
Traditional Hardware Monitoring functions are supported.
Power Supply and CPU Voltage
CPU & System Fans speed
CPU & System temperature
Case Open or not (Chassis Intrusion Detection)

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
