THE VIRTUAL TABLET INTERFACE
DIGITIZER TECHNOLOGY

This document enumerates supported configurations for each digitizer. If your
tablet is not listed below, choose one that matches the active area and report
format of your digitizer. If you received an OEM Edition of the Virtual Tablet
Interface, only the tablets licensed by the OEM will be available from the list
below. For information on upgrading to the Professional Edition, please see the
Readme.Txt file or select General Overview from your Virtual Tablet program
group.

Some digitizers may require setting dip switches or soft menus for proper
operation. If in doubt about how to configure a particular digitizer, the
following rules of thumb are generally true for all digitizers supported by the
Virtual Tablet Interface:
Output Format: High resolution binary (ASCII not supported)
Origin: Lower-left
Resolution: Highest supported, typically 1000 lines per inch
Report Rate: Slow = 32, Medium = 64 and Fast = 96 at 9600 baud
Mode: Stream, continuous or run
Proximity: Send out-of-proximity reports
Baud: 9600 (except SummaPad, CadPro, Design and Creation
Stations)
Refer to the manual that came with your tablet and configure per the information
and notes below. Make sure your configuration is the one active each time the
digitizer is reset or powered-up, and the digitizer is turned on before starting
Windows.

= ?, Control Mode = Altek, Buffer = 1, DTE & DCE Ports = ON/Data/Message, PRN =
X, Beeper = ?, CR = X, LF = X, CTS = OFF. After setting to these parameters
choose "SAVE" Storage 1 (make sure you hear the unit beep to be sure that it
saved).
The required dipswitch settings for the AC30 controller are: S1 (1-Off, 2-Off,
3-On, 4-On, 5-On, 6-On, 7-Off and 8-On); and S2 (1-Off, 2-Off, 3-Off, 4-Off,
5-On, 6-Off, 7-Off and 8-Off).
The required dipswitch settings for the AC40 controller are: Upper Left (1-On,
2-?, 3-Off, 4-Off, 5-On, 6-On, 7-Off and 8-Off); Upper Right (1-On, 2-Off,
3-Off, 4-Off, 5-Off, 6-Off, 7-On and 8-On); Lower Left (1-Off, 2-On, 3-Off,
4-Off, 5-Off, 6-On, 7-On and 8-On); and Lower Right (1-On, 2-Off, 3-Off, 4-Off,
5-Off, 6-On, 7-Off, and 8-On).

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
