   A. Installation:

      1. Plug Winbond W89C840 card into one of the PCI slots of your PC.

      2. Turn power on then boot from Windows 98 or NT 5.0.

      3. If Windows 98 or NT 5.0 prompts PCI Ethernet Controller in New
         Hardware Found dialog box, then please follow below steps to install
         driver :

         3.1 Select "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer" from
             New Hardware Found dialog box, then click OK button.
         3.2 Insert this driver disk into drive A:, type the path A:\WIN98 or
             A:\WINNT\50, and click the 'OK' button.
         3.3 When the 'Winbond W89C840 based 100M/10M PCI Ethernet Adapter'
             dialog box appears, press <Enter>.
         3.4 Follow screen instructions to complete the process.

      4. Restart your computer.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
