Introduction:

This document shows you how to setup the driver and how to use the enhanced
functions by setting the custom keywords.
Location of Driver: \Win98\PNPNT.SYS
Contents of the Subdirectory:

PNPNT.SYS The NDIS5 driver for Win98.
NETRTN.INF The installation information file.
Installation:
=============
Before starting with the installation process, make sure that the adapter
is properly installed and configured.
1.If Win98 has built the driver for RTL8019, when you plug
the RTL8019 in the mother board and power on the Win98 , the
Win98 will install the driver of RTL8019 automatically.
You will see there is an item:
"Realtek RTL8019 PnPLAN adapter or compatible"
in the 'Network adapters' list in the Device Manager.
The Device Manager can be invoked by choosing Start\Control Panel\System
\Hardware (Tag)\Device Manager (button)
2.Invoke the Device Manager. Right click the item
"Realtek RTL8019 PnP LAN adapter or compatible"
in the 'Network adapters' list, and choose Properties.
There will prompt the Realtek RTL8019 PnP LAN adapter or compatible
Properties window.
3.Click the 'Driver' tag, and choose the 'Update Driver' button.
There wll prompt a Upgrade Device Driver Wizard window.
Click 'Next'
Please choose
"Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose
a specific driver."
Click 'Next'.
4.Insert the driver diskette
Click 'Have Disk'
5.In 'Install From Disk' window, type the following path in the combo list:
a:\WIN2000
Click 'OK'.
6.choose the
"Realtek RTL8019 ISA PnP Ethernet [4-13-2001]"
click 'OK'.
7.There will show
"Windows driver file search for the device:
Realtek RTL8019 ISA PnP Ethernet"
Click 'Next'
8.WIN98 will copy the driver and system files for the network.
If it can't fine the driver 'PNPNT.SYS' , you can indicate
the place 'a:\' to it
9.Click 'Finish' , and restart the computer.
10.Finish the 'Update Driver', and the updated driver will work for
RTL8019.
11.You will see
"Realtek RTL8019 ISA PnP Ethernet"
in the 'Network adapters' list.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
