README.TXT Driver File Contents (DMPPDVR.EXE)

  DMP-135, DMP-136 & DMP-137 Printer Drivers for DeskMate 
  (260-2866, 260-2868 & 260-2887)

These drivers enable the user to print from DeskMate versions 3.0 and
up (including color printing), using either the DMP 135, DMP 136,
or DMP 137 Printers.

NOTES:

   * The DMP 135 is not a color printer; however, the driver will
     work if the printer is set to the EPSON mode.

   * The option for DMP 135/136 appears in the list of printers
     only in DeskMate versions 3.04 and 3.05. This option does not
     appear in DeskMate versions prior to 3.04.

   * The DMP 136 driver can be used for the DMP 137 Printer.

This disk contains the following files--

   README.TXT
   DMPD.CFG
   DMPDIBMM.ACC
   DMPDIBMM.RES
   DMPDIBMM.RFD
   DMPEIBMM.RES
   DMPRTSEL.ACC

In order to obtain a printout of this README.TXT file, insert this
disk in Drive A, make sure your printer is switched on, is on line,
and at the C:\> prompt, type the following command--

   PRINT A:README.TXT

and press <Enter>.


INSTALLATION

1.  Start up your computer.

2.  Insert this diskette in Drive A.

3.  At the C:\> prompt, type in

       CD \DESKMATE

    and press <Enter>.

NOTE: In the above CD command, DESKMATE is the name of the DeskMate
      directory on your system. If the name of the DeskMate directory
      is not DESKMATE, substitute the appropriate name in the place
      of DESKMATE in this CD command line.

4. Type in

      COPY A:DMP*.*

    and press <Enter>. The driver files from this disk are copied
    to the DeskMate directory on your hard drive.

5.  Go into DeskMate.

6.  At the Desktop, press <F10> to go to the accessory menu.

7.  Select Setup from this menu.

8.  Press <F2> for the Option Menu.

9.  Select Printer... to go to the Setup Printer Menu.

10. In the Printers list box, select IBM GRAPHIC (for DeskMate
    versions 3.00, 3.02, and 3.03) or DMP 135/136 (for DeskMate
    versions 3.04 and 3.05).

NOTES:

   * If you select IBM GRAPHIC, when this driver is loaded, it checks
     if the printer is set to color.

   * If you select OTHER and use DMPEIBMM.RES, an "inappropriate
     printer file" message is displayed.

11. From the Setup Printer Menu, select any other applicable
    settings.

12. Select OK to save the choice of the new printer driver.

13. Press <Esc> to return to the Desktop.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

• Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

• If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

• Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

• Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

• Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

• From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

• Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
