README.TXT Driver File Contents (MMPCCD.EXE)

* MMPC Model 10/20 CD-ROM Driver (250-1640/1)

This CD-ROM driver must be installed for the CD-ROM to be recognized as
a valid drive.

This disk contains the following files --

   DD251.SYS
   README.TXT

In order to obtain a printout of this README.TXT file, insert this
disk in Drive A, make sure your printer is switched on, is on line,
and at the C:\> prompt, type the following command --

   PRINT A:README.TXT

and press <ENTER>.

INSTALLATION

1.  Start up your computer.

2.  Insert this diskette in Drive A.

3.  At the C:\> prompt, type

    A:

    and press <ENTER>.

4.  At the A:\> prompt, type

    COPY DD251.SYS C:\CDROM

    and press <ENTER>.

    This will copy the CD-ROM driver into the appropriate directory on
    your hard drive.

This completes the installation process.

NOTE:
The above installation procedure assumes the computer's CONFIG.SYS file
is in proper order.  To load the CD-ROM driver, the following line must
appear in the CONFIG.SYS file:

DEVICEHIGH /L:1,12048 =\CDROM\DD251.SYS /D:MSCD001 /P:340 /I:11 /C:99 /M:24

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
