SOFTWARE FOR DIGITAL MULTIMETER WITH COMPUTER INTERFACE
version 1.21

The software provided with the Digital Multimeter is designed to receive,
record, and graphically present Digital Multimeter (DMM) measurement data.
This software can be run both under MS-DOS as well as Windows. The DOS
program is called RS and is in the directory called GRAPHIC. The Windows
program is called SCOPEVIEW located in the SCOPE directory.

This disk contains the following files--

In order to obtain a printout of this README.TXT file, insert this disk 
in Drive A, make sure your printer is switched on, is on line, and at the
C:\> prompt, type the following command--

   PRINT A:README.TXT

and press <Enter>.


INSTALLATION FROM MS-DOS

   1.  Connect the Multimeter to your computer's COM port as instructed
       in the owner's manual for the Multimeter.

   2.  Start up your computer.

   3.  Insert this disk in Drive A.

   4.  At the C:\> prompt, type

          MD \METER

       and press the <Enter> key.

   5.  Type

          COPY A:\GRAPHIC\*.* METER

       and press <Enter>.

NOTE:
   In order to run the program, at the C:\> prompt, type

      RS

   and press <Enter>.  Respond accordingly to the instructions in the
   on-screen help.




NOTES:
   * If your computer does not have a hard disk, the program can still be
     run from this diskette. Insert this disk in Drive A, enter A:, enter
     CD \GRAPHIC, and enter RS.
   * To stop the program or to escape from a Device I/O Error, press
     <Ctrl>-<Break>.


INSTALLATION FROM WINDOWS

   1.  Connect the Multimeter to your computer's COM port as instructed
       in the owner's manual for the multimeter.

   2.  Start up your computer.

   3.  At the C:\> prompt, type

          CD \WINDOWS

       and press <Enter>.

   4.  Type

          WIN

       and press <Enter>.

   5.  At the Program Manager screen, click on File.

   6.  Click on Run.

   7. At the Command Line prompt, type

         A:\SCOPE\SETUP

      and press <Enter>.


NOTE:
   In order to run the Scopeview software, turn the meter on, click on
   the newly-created Scopeview icon, and respond accordingly to the
   prompts.  Refer to the Scopeview manual for a description of the 
   various Setup Option choices as well for the different modes of
   gathering data.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
