tina+95 Versions:
-----------------
1.00 1st Release

1. General

There are three ways to connect a Windows 95 computer to ISDN:

- Integration via CAPI subsystem of Acotec (this floppy)
- Integration via NDIS-Miniport driver (a different product)
- Integration via serial modem driver and COM-Port (a different
  product)

This floppy contains the software necessary for the integration
via CAPI subsystem of Acotec. It supports one/two B-channel with up
to 64.000 bps. For support of more B-channels, Terminaladaptors
or X.25-PC cards call Stollmann E+V at ++49-40-890 88-0.

This floppy contains the following files:

- fw??1tr6.loc Loadable Firmware with D-channel proto-
                        col 1TR6 for tina-??
- fw??dss1.loc Loadable Firmware with D-channel
                        protocol DSS1 for tina-??
- oemsetnt.inf Installation script for WIN 95
- readme.txt This text
- timac.vxd NDIS/TAPI Miniport driver

2. tina-dd/tina-dvV8

2.1 Installing tina-dd/tina-dvV8 hardware

To install the tina board run "CONTROL" and
select "NETWORK". Call "Add adaptor", select the
floppy drive and install the tina card.

This routine installs the tina board with the following
default settings:
IRQ: 10
Base I/O Address: 260
ISDN Protocol: DSS1

These may be altered by double-clicking the tina
board in the "Network" section

Afterwards choose "Add protocol" and install
"ACOTEC CAPI-Subsystem".

Then reboot your computer.

Additional installation informations:

2.2.1 IO-Port address

tina-?? can be installed at four different IO-Base addresses
of the ISA bus. The default address is 260H. Change this
address only if a conflict with other boards occurs.

2.2.2 Interrupt number

tina-?? can use different interrupt levels on the ISA bus. The
default interrupt is 10. Check tina-?? for the correct
interrupt setting before installing and make sure you choose
the same one in the menu.

2.2.3 D-channel protocol

There are many different D-channel protocols in use in the ISDN.

2.2.3.1 Public ISDN, 1TR6

The 1TR6 protocol is the older German national protocol.

2.2.3.2 Public ISDN, DSS1

The DSS1 protocol is the common European protocol. Most of the
new ISDN-interfaces in Germany support DSS1. Other countries
supporting DSS1 are: Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway,
The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria
and many others. The data transfer service of the ISDN
interface has to be configured in the switch or the PABX.

2.2.3.3 Private switches (PABX)

PABXs use different protocols, including 1TR6, DSS1, DKZE and
proprietary protocols. If in doubt, consult the vendor. The
data transfer service of the ISDN interface has to be
configured in the switch or the PABX.

2.2.4 Endgeraeteauswahlziffer (EAZ)/
        Multiple Subscriber Number (MSN)

You can distinguish different ISDN terminals by a different
EAZ (1TR6) or MSN (DSS1). This parameter selects a
specific EAZ/MSN for the tina-?? card. It is selected by
the application software.

EAZ:
If you use 1TR6, the EAZ is an additional digit added to
your phone number. It can be any number from 1 to 8. If you
want to connect to the tina-dd, the caller has to dial
either the EAZ you have selected or the -0, which addresses
all terminals regardless of their EAZ. In this case the call
is connected to the terminal that reacts first.

MSN:
If your protocol is DSS1, you usually get different MSNs
which normally differ only in the last digit. That depends on
the software in the public/private switch.

The number called by the client consists of the prefix and
the local number. The public switch generates the protocol
element Destination Address (DAD) which is the local number
or a part of it. It may also be omitted. The called
NT-server compares the last digit of the DAD with the MSN
programmed and decides whether to accept the call or not.

2.3 Running TIMAC

After you have restarted your computer, you can run several
CAPI 2.0 based apllication. For details refer to the
documentation of CAPI subsystem.

3. Troubleshooting

- Hardware does not react:
check ISDN-board under DOS if possible, check board address
  switches and interrupt jumper.

- No user responding 0x34BA
The number settings are not correct. You call another ISDN
line, but there is no data terminal responding. The reasons
  can be:
  - the number you call does not address the ISDN bus your
95 computer is connected to. If the calling client is
connected to a PBX you have to dial a prefix to
    access the public ISDN.

- You cannot be called
There is no way to check your own ISDN number by yourself
  without any doubt.

- Test/Upload directory
If you are not sure whether you can connect or not, call
our RASTEST at ++49-40-890 88-328. You may upload files to
this directory to test the communication link.
