       Limitations on Driver Software for 
       Windows 95/Windows 98/Windows Millennium Edition

1. Notice to use the "Suspend/Hibernation" function
   When you use "Suspend / Hibernation" function, be sure to
   eject the disc before you go into this mode.
   Otherwise, there might be a chance that data including
   file system control data will not be properly written onto
   the disc if this "Suspend / Hibernation" mode is selected
   before the data transfer from the cache on the PC to the
   drive is not completed.

2. The limitations when using under Windows OS's
(1)The file exceeding the 4GB size cannot be created.
(2)The access is possible for the data only limited within
   the 4GB file size when reading the file that was created
   in a different circumstance, withmore than the 4GB file size.
(3)The Explorer prohibits users from copying the file over
   the 2GB size.(Windows 95/98 only)

3. The limitation on SCSI interface boards
   With Adaptec's Ultra2 supported SCSI interface board
   (AHA-2940U2W, and etc.), please do not use the Aic78u2.mpd
   mini-port driver with the version older than 3.01.
   Please update the older version by downloading the latest
   mini-port driver via Adaptec's web site.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
