              Driver Installation Guide for Windows NT 3.51
           ===================================================

Introduction
============
    This document describes the procedure to install NDIS 3.01 driver on
    Windows NT 3.51 for FriendlyNET PCI595 Fast Ethernet Adapter.

    Location of Driver: \WINNT351\SISNIC.SYS


Installation Procedure
======================
    1. Power off your PC and install the adapter in one of PCI slot.

    2. Reboot the computer using the Windows NT operating system.

    3. Open the Control Panel, which is found in the Main program group
       of the Program Manager.

    4. Start the Network control panel item.

    5. Select the "Add Adapter..." option.  In the list that appears,
       scroll to the bottom and select the option "<Other> Requires disk
       from manufacturer".
       Click on "Continue".

    6. Insert the FriendlyNET PCI595 drivers diskette in your floppy drive
       and specify the correct path, e.g. A:\WINNT351, then click OK.

    7. In the list that appears, double-click on one of the following:

       "FriendlyNET PCI595 Fast Ethernet Adapter"

    8. In the dialog box that appears, select the Media Type and enter the
       Network address for the adapter if necessary  (You can click Help
       for more detailed information about these settings).
       Click "OK" to complete this dialog box (or Cancel to terminate the
       configuration without completing it).

    9. Exit the Network control panel window.  Windows NT asks if you wish
       to reboot.You must reboot before the adapter will function properly.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
