          Driver installation Guide for NetWare DOS ODI Client
       ==========================================================

Introduction
============
    This document describes the procedure to setup the NetWare DOS ODI
    driver for FriendlyNET PCI595 Fast Ethernet Adapter.

    Location of Driver: \NETWARE\DOSODI\SIS900.COM


Installation Procedure
======================
 A. Setup Procedure for NetWare Client with NETX:
    ---------------------------------------------
    1. Copy SIS900.COM and relative files to specified directory:

       copy a:\NETWARE\DOSODI\*.*

    2. Edit or modify the NET.CFG file if necessary to select protocol
       and media type options.

    3. To connect to a server, use the following loading sequence:

       LSL
       SIS900
       IPXODI
       NETX
       LOGIN


 B. Setup Procedure for NetWare Client with VLM:
    --------------------------------------------
    The installation utility "INSTALL.EXE" is located on NetWare's
    "Workstation for DOS" disk. Run INSTALL.EXE from the Workstation
    for DOS Disk.
    The NetWare Client "Install" program screen will appear. You must
    complete each of the questions.These options are specific to your
    needs.

    1. Enter the destination directory for the NetWare Client.
       (The default directory is C:\NWCLIENT).

    2. Install will modify your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files.
       Allow changes? (Y/N)

    3. Do you wish to install support for MS Windows ? (Y/N)
       (MS Windows Subdirectory: default C:\WINDOWS)

    4. Select the driver for your network board:
       a. Scroll the list to choose OTHER DRIVERS.
       b. Press <Enter>, and the "Insert The Driver Disk" dialog box
          will be prompted. Type the path to the directory which
          contain driver and information file. (A:\NETWARE\DOSODI)
       c. Press <Enter> and select target ODI driver.
       d. Select optional settings.
       e. Press "F10" to save.

    5. Press <Enter> to install

       Note:
       -----
       * Be sure to add LASTDRIVE=Z to your CONFIG.SYS file for the
         network mappings to work properly when using VLM.


 C. Set Media Type:
    ---------------
    1. Default is Auto-detect.

    2. Force media type.
       Modify Net.cfg

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
