Driver Installation Guide for IBM LAN Server ================================================== Introduction ============ This document describes the procedure to install driver on IBM LAN Server for FriendlyNET PCI595 Fast Ethernet Adapter. Location of Driver: \NDIS2\OS2\SIS900.OS2 Installation Procedure ====================== A. Installing driver for OS/2 LAN Server 4.x: ------------------------------------------ Before you start with the installation process, make sure that OS/2 LAN Server is properly installed. Similarly, your adapter should also be properly installed in your server. 1. In OS/2 window, Click the "MPTS" icon. 2. The screen will display the IBM Log, press "OK". 3. Select "Install" button. 4. Insert the driver disk, specify the driver path A:\NDIS2\OS2 and press <Enter>. 5. When complete above step to load RTSND.OS2 into OS/2 system, then configure your system. 6. The same step as step 3, select "Configure" button. 7. The screen will display "Configure" dialog box and select "LAN adapters and protocols" then press "configure" button. 8. The screen will display "LAPS Configuration" dialog box, move highlight to "FriendlyNET PCI595 Fast Ethernet Adapter" item in "Network Adapter" window, and select "NetBios" protocol. Then, press "OK". 9. Installation is complete now. Reset PC by turning it off and on. Optional Parameters: -------------------- SLOT - This parameter specifies the slot number used for notifications. For PCI slot, you can specify from 1 to 16. MEDIATYPE - This parameter specifies the media type currently used. If MEDIATYPE does not specified, it will auto detect the media type. Parameters List: AUTO -- Auto-select media type. UTP -- 10BaseT half duplex mode. UTPFULL -- 10BaseT full duplex mode. FAST -- 100BaseT half duplex mode. FASTFULL -- 100BaseT full duplex mode.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
