Driver Installation Guide for DOS LAN Requester ===================================================== Introduction ============ This document describes the procedure to install driver on IBM DOS LAN Requester for FriendlyNET PCI595 Fast Ethernet Adapter. Location of Driver: \NDIS2\DOS\SIS900.DOS Installation Procedure ====================== A. Installing driver for DOS LAN Requester of LAN Server 4.x: ---------------------------------------------------------- Before you start with the installation process, make sure that DOS LAN Services is properly installed. Similarly, your adapter should also be properly installed in your client PC. 1. Copy SIS900.DOS from your Driver diskette (\NDIS2\DOS) to LAN Services subdirectory C:\DLS . 2. Under DOS LAN Requester subdirectory C:\DLS, run INSTALL. 3. The screen display some description. If it's correct, move highlight to "The listed options are correct" item ,then press ENTER. 4. Move highlight to "Network Card", then press ENTER. 5. Select "Change driver for network card." item, then press ENTER. 6. Select "Network card not shown in list below..", then press ENTER. 7. Insert the driver diskette in floppy A, and specify the pathname A:\NDIS2\DOS, then press ENTER. 8. SIS900.DOS NDIS driver is now installed on your computer, reboot your computer. B. Put the keywords to enable # the special functions. [IBM$NETBEUI] DriverName=netbeui$ SESSIONS=20 NCBS=20 BINDINGS=SIS900 LANABASE=0 : [SIS900] DriverName=SIS900$ C. Optional Parameters: -------------------- SLOT - This parameter specifies the slot number used for notifications. For PCI slot, you can specify from 1 to 16. MEDIATYPE - This parameter specifies the media type currently used. If MEDIATYPE does not specified, it will auto detect the media type. Parameters List: AUTO -- Auto-select media type. UTP -- 10BaseT half duplex mode. UTPFULL -- 10BaseT full duplex mode. FAST -- 100BaseT half duplex mode. FASTFULL -- 100BaseT full duplex mode.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
