LAN Manager Workstation/Server Introduction: ------------- This document describes the procedure to setup Microsoft LAN Manager Workstation/Server driver for AOpen AON-101 10M ISA PnP Ethernet Adapter. Location of Driver: \MSLANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\AON101\AN101.DOS Sample Configuration Files: --------------------------- CONFIG.SYS : DEVICE=C:\LANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\PROTMAN\PROTMAN.DOS /I:C:\LANMAN.DOS DEVICE=C:\LANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\AON101\AN101.DOS PROTOCOL.INI (will contain): [AN101_NIF] ; AON101 RPOTOCOL.INI SAMPLE DriverName = AN101$ AdapterID = @006067000047 ; This item is only required when ; more than one AON101 adapters ; exist on one system. Setup Procedures: ----------------- Before you start with the installation process, make sure that the adapter is properly installed and configured. Make sure your Microsoft LAN Manager is properly installed. 1. Run the appropriate Microsoft Lan Manager SETUP for computer you are setting up. Select "Configuration" item ,select the <Other Driver> item (the AOpen driver isn't included on the LAN Manager disk) and insert the AOpen driver disk,specify the drive name of the driver disk (don't specify the path name), and follow the directions. 2. When completed, reboot your computer . NOTES: ------ 1. Parameters for the PROTOCOL.INI file: DRIVERNAME: This is the one required parameter. See example at top of this document for syntax. AdapterID : This keyword is provided by AON101, and is required when more than one AOpen adapters exist on one system. You must modify the AdapterID value in file, \LANMAN\PROTOCOL.INI, by yourself. 2. Sample PROTOCOL.INI for LAN Manager: [PROTMAN] DRIVERNAME = PROTMAN$ DYNAMIC = YES PRIORITY = NETBEUI [NETBEUI_XIF] Drivername = netbeui$ SESSIONS = 6 NCBS = 12 BINDINGS = "AN101_NIF" LANABASE = 0 [AN101_NIF] ; ; AON101 PROTOCOL.INI Sample Adapter ; DriverName = AN101$ AdapterID = @006067000047 3. The AdapterID is the Ethernet Address of the AON101 Ethernet card. You can find the value by running SETUP.EXE -- the View Current Configuration\Ethernet Address item in DOS environment.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
