NOTES:
      Before install the driver, you must use "acerset.exe" to change
      the PNP mode into the Jumpless mode.	

The following files will be used in this installation:

1.  Installation Diskette in DOS format.
    Put ALN-101 SCO UNIX Driver diskette to floppy A: and use doscp
    command to copy ALN-101 SCO UNIX Driver into UNIX's directories.

       # cd /
       # doscp a:/sco5/setup  /setup
       # chmod +x /setup
       # ./setup


2.     Use netconfig utility

       Avaiable options:

       # netconfig

3.  To add adapters, select "Add New Lan Adapter" from "Hardware".

4.  Select "AcerLAN ALN-101 Ethernet Adapter Driver" from list.
      
    NOTES: If you ever used old ALN-101 driver, you can find the description
           "AcerLAN ALN-101 PnP Ethernet Adapter Driver, board 0".
           Now please ignore it or you also can remove it from list
           using below method:

           # cd /usr/lib/netconfig/info
           # rm r0e0

5.  Add Protocol to select SCO TCP/IP. 
       
6.  Enter the internet Address of this interface    n.n.n.n

7.  Enter the netmask for this interface            (default 255.255.255.0)

8.  Enter the boardcast address for this interface  default: n.n.n.n

9.  Do you want to relink to kernel now ?           y

10. Do you want this kernel to boot by default (y/n) y

11. Do you want the kernel environment rebuilt (y/n) y

12. Reboot unix

        # reboot

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
