               Installing the Relia PCMCIA Ethernet Card driver
                         Under Artisoft LANtastic 6.x
              ==================================================

     The NDIS driver currently is supported for LANtastic version 6.x only.

     The NDIS driver for Artisoft LANtastic follows Microsoft's NDIS
     specification version 2.0.1

     The Relia PCMCIA Ethernet Card device driver files contained in this
     directory are as follows:

     Files            Contests
     -------------    -----------------------------------------------------
     PCMND.DOS        NDIS driver for Artisoft LANtastic.
     PROTOCOL.INI     Includes driver binding information and operational.

     please see you LANtastic Installation documentation.

     *  Installation Procedure Steps  *
     **********************************

     1. Run the LANtastic INSTALL program to install LANtastic and answer 
        all questions.

        a. Under "Select Network Adapter" diaglogue box, select
  
            "NDIS Support for Network Adapters".

        b. Insert this diskette into drive A.

        c. Under the "Enter NDIS driver directory" diaglogue box, type

            A:\LANTASTI

     2. After installation completes, you should modify the PROTOCOL.INI
        file to specify the INTERRUPT number and the IOBASE number, which 
        must be equal to the /IRQ and /IO parameters specified to the 
        enabler program or client driver.

     3. To start up the network, execute the STARTNET.BAT batch file.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
