======================================================================

1. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
     ---------------------------
The minimum system requirements for LAVA! Player/Producer is
     as follows:

     - For Windows 95(OSR2.5), 98 and Millennium Edition based systems
           - Intel(R) Pentium II (R) 233 MHz CPU
           - 64 MB RAM

     - For Windows 2000 based systems
           - Intel(R) Pentium II (R) 300 MHz CPU
           - 128 MB RAM

     - 30 MB of free hard disk space
     - a 3D accelerator or 2D/3D display card with
minimum 16-bit display, Direct 3D (optionally OpenGL) support
and at least 8 MB memory
     - an audio card

     Note:
If your display/3D card has less than 16 MB of RAM, it is
recommended that you run LAVA! at 800x600 screen resolution
     in 16-bit color depth.
If, however, your display/3D card has 16 MB RAM or more,
you should run LAVA! at 1024x768 screen resolution in 16-bit
color depth (unless otherwise directed below).

2. POWER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM STANDBY MODE
     ------------------------------------
The system standby mode for power management is supported.
However, it is possible that the application may not display
properly after recovery from system standby. The application
has to be restarted. It is recommended that you disable power
     management features before running LAVA!.

3. CHANGING COLOR DEPTH
     --------------------
It is recommended that you do not change the system color depth
while LAVA! is running. Otherwise, LAVA! may not display properly.
     If this happens, restart LAVA!.

4. OTHER KNOWN ISSUES
     ------------------
4.1 Known issues with 3Dfx Voodoo2 graphics cards

Creative does not provide support for Voodoo2 graphics
cards as Voodoo2 cards do not allow LAVA! to run to its
            full potential.

4.2 Known issues with Matrox graphics cards

Matrox graphics card users are recommended to run LAVA!
in 16-bit color depth because they may experience poor
performance while using 24-bit color depth.

4.3 Known issues with Savage4 graphics cards

Savage4 graphics cards may not display LAVA! objects
correctly. To resolve the problem, drag the slider
to "Best Quality" in the 3D settings.

Savage4 cards may have problems running LAVA! on systems
with more powerful CPUs such as the AMD Athlon 800MHz.
Users are recommended to get the updated driver from
www.s3.com or refer to the table of recommended drivers
            at URL: http://www.lava.com/support/drivers.html

4.4 Known issues with GeForce graphics cards

If you encounter problems when running LAVA! with GeForce
graphics cards in Windows 95 environment, it is recommended
that you run LAVA! in Windows 98.

GeForce cards (using driver version 353 and below) may
experience compatibility issues while running Athlon
systems. Users are recommended to install the latest
            reference driver from www.nvidia.com.

4.5 Known issues with audio cards with hardware
            acceleration enabled

The audio playback may be slow when you are using some
non-Creative audio cards that have hardware acceleration.
To rectify the problem, you may need to disable the
hardware acceleration option using the application that is
            shipped with the audio card.
