Quick Check DataMatch DataMatch is a PC database compacting and downloading utility program supplied with your Quick Check. Its use and the necessary database structure are described below: Database Structure Before using DataMatch to compact and load your database into the Quick Check you must structure each record in the data file as shown below: SYM<TAB>DECODE<TAB>MATCH<CR><LF> SYM is a three character symbology identifier the same as the three character symbology type identifiers the Quick Check displays after testing a code. They may be upper or lower case and are: UPC or upc -- U.P.C. Code EAN or ean -- European Article Number CBR or cbr -- Codabar C39 or c39 -- Code 39 I25 or i25 -- Interleaved 2 of 5 C93 or c93 -- Code 93 128 ----------Code 128 C11 or c11 -- Code 11 MSI or msi -- MSI Code (Two Sample database files included for reference are:Sample & Wild1) DECODE is the encoded information scan message as shown by the Quick Check as the "human readable" of a symbol. Certain constraints apply to the format of DECODE: 1. U.P.C. and EAN must include the check digit and number system character or "flags" separated by "-" U.P.C.-A => X-XXXXXXXXXX-X U.P.C.-E => X-XXXXXX-X EAN-8 => X-XXXXXX-X EAN-13 => XX-XXXXXXXXXX-X 2. Codabar and Code 39 should show applicable Start / Stop characters. Code 39 Start and Stop represented by "*". Codabar Start represented by "A" and Stop represented by "B". 3. If applicable, Code 39, Interleaved 2 of 5, Code 11 and MSI should include proper check digits in parenthesis. MATCH is the alternate message or database descriptor for the symbol and its encoded data. It should be a maximum of forty (40) characters. The length of MATCH will affect the number of records (or items) that you can store in the database section of your Quick Check. At a forty (40) character MATCH per record maximum you can store one thousand (1000) items or records. When naming your database you add can any extension to the file name that you wish. Database Downloading After your database is structured properly you can run the utility and load your database. Be sure your database and DataMatch are on the same disk drive and directory in your PC and your Quick Check has been connected to the Serial port of your computer using either of the new "two way" Hand Held Products PC interface cables, QCDB09F.
