1.0 General Notes

Hand Held Products, Inc. Cordless Products (ST3470, ST5770, ST2070)
*	Upon connecting to Visual Menu, the ST2070 base automatically goes into
serial mode. As a result, the user must "power cycle" the base prior to
scanning. To do this, simply disconnect and reconnect the power
	supply to the base.

*	Parity in the RF base must be set to N or S in order to connect to the
ST2070 base. If a parity value of E, O, or M is required by your system,
you must re-set the parity to N or S by scanning the appropriate bar
code in your Cordless Systems Manual, prior to attempting to connect to
	Visual Menu.

* Terminal ID numbers are located in the Cordless Systems Manual.

* To connect Visual Menu to a ST3470 or ST5770 scanner, depress and hold
the trigger while starting the Visual Menu program.

* On the ST3470 or ST5770 scanner, you should limit parameter changes
through Visual Menu to those found on the "RF Scanner" tab. All other
parameters are controlled by the base, and should be modified using
the base tabs. While it is possible to change other parameters in
the scanner using Visual Menu, these changes will be overwritten
by the base when the scanner is associated with it.

*	The Cordless scanner must be sucessfully associated to the clone
destination base prior to scanning the cloning barcodes.

2.0 Known Problems and Workarounds

The following issues have been identified when using Visual Menu with Welch
Allyn Cordless Systems, and are directly related to the specific revision of
firmware used in these products at the time of release (-009, -010 for
the ST2070 and ST3470/5770 respectively). These issues will be corrected in
future upgrades, however, suggestions as to how the user may work
around these issues in the interim are included below:

*	Changing the End of Record character under the Aux Comm tab renders the
unit unable to connect to Visual Menu once the settings are written
to the device. Go to "File" then "Preferences". Change the End of
Record (EOR) character to match the new setting then reconnect using
the "Detect New Device" command from the Device menu.

*	Visual Menu reports Matrix 2 of 5 and UPC/EAN symbologies as disabled,
but the scanner continues to read these symbologies as they are presented.
Disable the symbology by scanning the appropriate bar code on page
	5-8 (Matrix 2 of 5), 5-10 (EAN 8 &13), 5-11 (UPC A), or 5-12 (UPC E0)

* Pressing the "Indicator Diagnostics" button on the RF Scanner tab
may cause the unit to enter reset mode. Select "Detect New Device" from
the Device menu to reconnect to Visual Menu.

*	In many cases offline configuration selections do not accurately reflect
selections available for the device. Refer to the user's manual for
	valid selections.
