REQUIREMENTS

This release of firmware requires that the scanner EPROMs be at least

to HDC release 2 (EPROM Firmware Version E003).

Requires that the SCD board have had MDN 293 applied

  *  Full 3x3 and 5x5 USM support (SM7500 only)

  *  8, 12 and 16 bit scanning modes in Mac and PC formats
  *  Line packed and pixel packed data presentation
  *  Interpolation (Bilinear and Pixel deletion/replication) to
      all resolutions below 32 x native DPI (Maximum of 64K pixels per line). 
  *  Native resolutions to 2500 DPI (8 inch drum) and 5000 DPI (4 inch drum).
  *  Full autofocus support.
  *  Full interactive focus support.
  *  Control panel diagnostic menu support
  *  Host can now determine drum size and door state.
  *  System startup diagnostics/Power on self test.
  *  Forced drum speed limit from control panel.

Known Bugs:

  o If an SM6500 loses its flash memory image it will report that it
    is an SM7500 Pro.  This should not pose a problem as the software
    has been updated to accomodate this for downloads.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
