===================================================================== INES IEEE488.2 GPIB Version 6 Installation of INES ISA cards using Windows 2000/XP ===================================================================== Supported hardware GPIB-PC104 GPIB-PC (U8=NEC 7210 C ) GPIB-PC-HS (U8=iGPIB 7210 1.1) GPIB-AT Installation Instructions for Windows 2000/XP ( NOT valid for Plug&Play cards, see \readme.txt ) ISA cards are different to Plug&Play cards. Because the presense of hardware cannot be detected automatically, the card(s) must be added explicitely to the system. (1) If a previous version of INES IEEE488.2 GPIB is installed: Remove all previous installations of INES IEEE488.2 GPIB by using <distribution-dir-or-drive>\tools\igclreg.exe (2) Carefully configure the IRQ and IO settings of your card to use non-conflicting resources. Resource conflict could damage your hardware. Disable all DMA channels. NOTE your settings! (3) Install (all) INES GPIB ISA card(s) (4) Power on again your computer. (5) Select (Windows)->(Settings)->(Control Panel)->(Add/Remove Hardware). The Add/Remove Hardware Wizard appears. (6) Select (Add/Troubleshoot a device), (Next). Windows does search for new Plug&Play hardware. (7) Select (Add a new device), (Next). (8) Select (No, I want to select hardware from a list), (Next) (9) Select (Other devices) (10) Select (Have Disk), direct Windows to your distribution disk or directory (11) Select the type of your INES GPIB card (12) Enter the resources assigned in step (2). If you cannot assign a resource because Windows reports it as allocated: Quit the (Add/Remove Hardware Wizard) and see (Troubleshooting Conflicting Resources) below. (13) Select (Yes) (14) Select (Start Hardware Installation) (15) Repeat starting with step (5) for each card not yet installed. Otherwise allow the (Add/Remove Hardware Wizard) to reboot your computer. (16) Use the (Device Manager) to verify the installation. (17) After the Hardware Wizard has finished, execute setup.exe from the installation CD-ROM (or the directory containing the download content) and follow the instructions of the installation program. This adds the generic software components to your computer. Troubleshooting Conflicting Resources If Windows reports Resources as being allocated: (1) there might be a real resource conflict with existing hardware. Reconfigure your cards and start again. (2) there might be remains from previously installation attempts, (icglreg.exe) was not able to remove automatically. In this case open the (Add/Remove Hardware Wizard), Choose (Deinstall Device) and deinstall the devices wrongly reported as conflicting.Download Driver Pack
