Readme for Aladdin DiagnostiX, Memory Beamer and Aladdin Monitor

This list includes improvements, bug fixes, and other relevant information.
It is arranged in descending chronological order.


Aladdin DiagnostiX 1.10 (September 2004)

Added Features:

New screen for checking HASP HL keys, the usage is similar to Hardlock and HASP.

Displays a list of the connected HASP and Hardlock USB keys.

Known USB Devices, aksdrvsetup.log file will be added to the report.zip if the file is found in windows directory.


Problems Solved:
--------------------
- Fixed - DiagnostiX report that HASPNT.sys version is 4.80 while V4.65 is installed
- Refresh shown driver version after the driver update

Known Issues:
-------------
When the WISE installer finds a custom.dll file in the directory where it is launched,
the custome dll is copied to DiagnostiX directory. If the file is not found, nothing will happen, no error message will be issued.

New Features
------------
The Aladdin DiagnostiX utility replaces the Aladdin Diagnostic tool.
The Aladdin DiagnostiX tool checks all the information in your system
relating to both HASP and Hardlock keys. 

If any HASP key is checked, will find all keys connected to different ports ( but not daisy-chained )
- provide your customer with a customized dll, allowing to check HASP without knowing passwords
- save HASP memory encrypted to report file and vendor can unpack to HASPEdit file with memory beamer
- guided creation of a nethasp.ini including server names from network scan
- create a report in xml, html or text
- run additional reporting tools and zip all the created output files
- change the environment settings for hardlock
- change the HL_SEARCH setting when testing the hardlock
- save Hardlock memory to report file and vendor can unpack to EEP-file

Known bugs and limitations on Windows 95
- msvcirt.dll required: This dll will be required by DiagnostiX. Usually this dll is not provided by Windows 95, but
  gets installed with newer applications like Internet Explorer. So please, if you encounter this problem, update your
  system or simply copy the required dll from any other system to the DiagnostiX directory.

New Features

Support for HASP HL keys on HASP LM.

The HASP Type is displayed in the HASP LM Pane.

The HASP Pane displays information about the key type.

Problems Solved
---------------
TD #285: When focusing on the "HASP information" side of the window,
pushing "Enter" caused  the window to  freeze. The mouse  and the keyboard  were
both useless in that part of the window.

TD #196: Monitor could crash when server under focus disappeared.

TD #286: Tab order

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
