Readme for HASP HL Factory API Library 1.21 (November 2005) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Installation Instructions ------------------------- Copy the contents of this folder to the following directory in your HASP HL installation \Aladdin\HASP HL\API\FactoryAPI If the HASP HL Factory API library is not already installed on your system: 1. Copy the entire Factory API directory tree to your local hard drive (for example C:\). 2. Open a command shell window, move to the directory to where you copied the library in step 1. 3. Run the following command to register the COM interfaces on your system: regsvr32 hasp_com_factory.dll To remove the COM interfaces from your system: 1. Open a command shell window, move to the directory containing the hasp_com_windows.dll file. 2. Run the following command to unregister the interfaces: regsvr32 /u hasp_com_factory.dll Supported Environments ---------------------- Operating systems: Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003 Version 1.20 (November 2005) ============================ New Features ------------ Section on how to integrate the Factory API in C++ (Visual Studio) added to Factory API online help. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
