Part 1: Features
================
1. Support Plug and Play installation
2. Support Full Duplex feature
3. Support MPU with or without MPU IRQ resource
4. Support both AZT2316x and AZT2320 audio products

Part 2: Limitations 
===================
1. Software wavetable is not supported.
2. DOS applications (Dos games) under Dos Box is not supported.
3. DirectSound is not supported.
4. In Full Duplex mode, sampling rates for Playback/Capture has to be the same.

Part 3: Installation of Audio Driver for Windows NT 4.00
========================================================
1. Remove any Audio Driver(s) in your systems (if applicable)
  1> Under Windows NT's control panel, select "Multimedia" icon and open
     the "Devices" folder. Click on "Audio Devices" and select <Remove>
     to remove any "Audio driver(s)". Restart Windows NT if you do not have
     any MPU401 drivers loaded.
  2> Under Windows NT's control panel, select "Multimedia" icon and open
     the "Devices" folder. Click on "MIDI Devices and Instruments" and select <Remove>
     to remove any MPU401 Drivers, then restart Windows NT.


2. The Windows NT Audio Driver can be installed using three methods:
  1> Plug and Play Installation (The recommended installation way)
    a) Right click on pnpisa.inf (from WinNT4.0 CDROM) and select Install.  
    b) Restart Windows NT 4.0 when prompted.
    c) You will see "New Hardware Found" and then be prompted to install
       drivers for several functions on your card:
    d) Choose "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer" and
       click OK.
    e) Enter the path name for this 16-bit audio driver. (i.e.  A:\ or B:\)
       Click OK.
    f) Select correct Device Driver and click OK.
    g) If there are any conflicting devices, change the resource untill 
       there is no conflict resources. Click OK when finish.
    h) Install all the driver with the same way.
    i) Restart Windows NT 4.0 when prompted.

  2> Automatic Installation
    a) Start->Run->"..path..\SETUP.EXE"
    b) Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the driver installation.
    c) Restart Windows NT 4.00 when prompted.

  3> Manual Installation
    a) To install the Audio Driver for the sound card, select the "Devices" folder 
       from the "Multimedia" icon under Control Panel.
    b) Select the "Devices" tab from the property page.
    c) Under "Audio Devices", select "Add ..." to add a new audio driver.
    d) Select the "Unlisted & Updated Driver" option at the "Add Dialog Box".
       Click on <Browse> button to specify the NT's driver source (i.e.A:\
       or B:\).
    e) Select <OK> to load the "Sound Card Audio Driver" into the System.
    f) Restart Windows NT 4.00 if you do not wish to install the MPU401 driver.
    g) If you wish to install the MPU401 driver, choose "MIDI Devices and Instruments"
       and select "Add ..." to add a new MPU401 driver.
    h) Select the "Unlisted & Updated Driver" option at the "Add Dialog Box".
       Click on <Browse> button to specify the NT's driver source (i.e.A:\
       or B:\).
    i) Select <OK> to load the "Sound Card MPU401 Driver" into the System.
    j) Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
    k) Restart Windows NT 4.00 when prompted.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
