When you encounter problems during the upgrade, please contact a Samsung Service Center.
If your drive is still in warranty please contact your retailer first.
When you upgrade your firmware, please check the "Buyer" on your label of drive.
If you upgrade wrong firmware, you will have a problem in operating.

¢À How to upgrade your firmware in Dos mode ¢À
1. Donwload firmware file to the Directory(C:)
2. Reboot your pc.
3. When you press F8 in Boot, Windows95/98 Start-up menu will be displayed.
(In case of window me/2000 , They are not supported in Dos mode, please boot
using booting disket/cd)
4. When you see windiws95/98 start up menu, you can find "Dos prompt mode or
Command prompt only". Then please choose this mode and boot in Dos mode.
5. When the booting is finished in Dos mode, please move to the Directory(c:)that you
downloaded firmware file.
(Write C:W>CD "DIRECTORY NAME" to move to Directory in Dos mode)
6. After moving to the Directory which contain firmware file, run "F11981.hex" and you
can see some displayed options then please put some option as your needs.
(ex: F11981 3 W filename.hex)

2 -> PRIMARY SLAVE(If your drive set up in primary slave, please write number 2)
3 -> SECONDARY MASTER(If your drive set up in secondary master, please write number3)
4 -> SECONDARY SLAVE(If your drive set up in secondary slave, please write number 4)
When you write number, please check your drive's connection.

"R" is to check your present firmware in your drive, "W" is to upgrade your
firmware in your drive.
If you got the message"firmware upgrade is finished", power your pc off and reboot your pc.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
