 ***** About the TEAC CD Player *****

Before installing the TEAC CD Player onto Windows, please carefully
read the following notes:


1.  About the Install Options

 When you execute the TEAC CD Player's setup program (SETUP.EXE),
a message will appear asking you to select one of the following two
options:

 a) AUTOPLAY ON

 With AUTOPLAY ON, the TEAC CD Player will start up and begin playing
automatically when you load a music CD.  If you select this option,
you will need to take certain precautions when uninstalling the TEAC
CD Player.  For details of these precautions, see "2. Precautions When
Uninstalling".

 b) AUTOPLAY OFF

 With AUTOPLAY OFF, the Microsoft CD Player will start up and begin 
playing automatically when you load a music CD. To use the TEAC
CD Player, you will need to quit the Microsoft CD Player program and
start up the TEAC CD Player.
 If you want the TEAC CD Player to start up automatically, you should
select option a) when installing the program.


2.  Precautions When Uninstalling

 Once the TEAC CD Player that has been installed, you can use the
following procedure to uninstall it:

 (1)  In the Control Panel, double click the Add/Remove Programs
      button.
 (2)  Under Software, select " TEAC CDP (Remove only) " and
      double click the Add/Remove... button.
 (3)  The uninstall program will be executed and the TEAC CD Player 
      will be removed from the system.

  *  Please note that if you select Install Option a) AUTOPLAY ON,
     uninstalling the TEAC CD Player using this procedure does not
     automatically reinstall the Microsoft CD Player.
     For details of how to reinstall the Microsoft CD Player,
     see " 3.  How to Reinstall the Microsoft CD Player ".


3.  How to Reinstall the Microsoft CD Player

 Even if you were using the Microsoft CD Player before installing
the TEAC CD Player, uninstalling the TEAC CD Player may not necessarily
allow you to use the Microsoft CD Player on Autoplay.
 If you want the Microsoft CD Player to start up and begin playing
automatically when you load a music CD, use the following procedure
to reinstall the Microsoft CD Player:
 
 (1)  On the Control Panel, double click the Add/Remove Programs button.
 (2)  Under Properties, select the Windows Setup.
 (3)  Among the files, select Multimedia and click the Details button.
 (4)  Among the files, click the CD Player check box to clear it.
      If the check box is already clear, go straight to Step (7).
 (5)  Click the OK button.
 (6)  Repeat Steps (1) to (3).
 (7)  Under File Types, click the CD Player check box to check it.
 (8)  Click the OK button.
 (9)  The Microsoft CD Player is installed.
 (10) When installation is completed, the Microsoft CD Player will 
      start up and begin playing automatically when you load a music CD.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
