 1.0 Installation Notes For Windows XP Users

    1. Shutdown the computer and plug the "NSC DP83815 10/100Mbps MacPhyter3v
       PCI Adapter" into the PCI slot.

    2. After starting Windows XP, the windows will detect the new Ethernet
       Controller and install the default driver.

    3. If you want to update the driver, following the steps:

    4. Insert the "NSC DP83815 10/100Mbps MacPhyter3v PCI Adapter"
       installation diskette into drive A:.

    5. Click the "Control Panel" from the "start" menu. If you can't find
       the "System" icon, click the "Switch to Classic View" item.

    6. Click the "System" icon, choose "Hardware" page and click the
       "Device Manager" button.

    7. Click on the default installed driver in "Network adapters".
       (The default driver may be "Netgear FA31x-Based Fast Ethernet adapter")

    8. Choose "Driver" page and click on the "Update driver..." button.

    9. Select the "Install from a list or specific location(Advanced)" radio,
       then click the "Next" button.

   10. Select the "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" radio,
       then click the "Next" button.

   11. Click the "Have Disk..." button and type the "A:\WINXP", then click
       the "OK" button.

   12. The Windows XP will start to search A: drive for network driver, and
       find the "National Semiconductor Corp. DP83815 10/100 MacPhyter3v PCI
       Adapter".

   13. Click the "Yes" button.
       When Windows XP prompt the driver has not passed Windows Logo testing,
       click the "Continue Anyway" button to continue with the installation.

   14. The Windows XP will start to copy the "NSC DP83815 10/100Mbps
       MacPhyter3v PCI Adapter" driver to the user's hard disk.

   15. Click the "Finish" button when windows has finished installing the
       software for "NSC DP83815 10/100Mbps MacPhyter3v PCI Adapter".


 2.0 Advanced Setup

    When you need to change the speed and duplex for "NSC DP83815 10/100Mbps
    MacPhyter3v PCI Adapter".
    The following step will help you to finish the setting.

        1. Click on the "Control Panel", then click on the "System".

        2. Choose "Hardware" page, then click on the "Device Manager" button.

        3. Click on the "National Semiconductor Corp. DP83815 10/100
           MacPhyter3v PCI Adapter" selection in "Network adapters".

        4. Choose "Advanced" page to setting "Network Media":
                Auto Sense
                100BaseTX
                100BaseTX Full duplex
                10BaseT
                10BaseT Full duplex

           Choose the setting as you needed.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
