Shutdown the computer and plug the "ALTIMA Gigabit Ethernet Adapter" into the PCI slot. 2. After starting Windows XP, the windows will detect automatically the new Ethernet Controller, then the "Found New Hardware Wizard" window appears. 3. Select "Install from a list or specific location(Advanced)." Click "Next". 4. Insert the "ALTIMA Gigabit Ethernet Adapter" installation disk into floppy drive/CD-ROM drive, then click the "Next" button. 5. Select the "Search for a suitable driver for my device(recommended)", radio button, then click the "Next" button. 6. Check the "Specify a location" box, Type Ex. "A:\WINXP" then click the "Next" button. 7. If window is pop-up a warning message window, click "Continue Anyway" button to continue with the installation. 8. The Windows XP will start to copy driver files. Click the "Finish" button and finish installing the software for this device. 9. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
