1. Introduction:

   This Ethernet NDIS driver supports Microsoft Windows 98 environment.


2. Contents of the Subdirectory:

      RETH.SYS        The driver for Windows 98.

      NETEP4.INF      An information file for installing the driver
                      for Windows 98.

3. Installation:

   * For Windows 98

     1) Install your PCMCIA Ethernet Card on your PC system following
        the procedure described in your installation manual.

     2) When the "New Hardware Found" panel appears, and you are 
        prompted for the driver.

     3) When the "Install from Disk" panel appears, insert the Ethernet
        Driver Disk to any floppy on your system. Then specify the path
        where the .INF file for Windows 98 exists (i. e., A:\WIN98 or
        B:\WIN98), and select OK.

        The system will copy the necessary files for you.

     4) When the driver installation is completed, restart Windows 98.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
