1. Introduction:
These Ethernet drivers for Windows for Workgroups 3.11 conform to 3Com/
Microsoft Network Driver Interface Specification v3.0. It supports Mi-
crosoft Windows for Workgroups v3.11 enviroment.
2. Contents of the Subdirectory:
RETH.DOS The NDIS2 driver.
RETH.386 The NDIS3 driver.
OEMSETUP.INF A setup-information file for installing the Ethernet
NDIS driver under Windows for Workgroups 3.11.
3.1 Windows for Workgroups 3.11 Installation
* Take the following steps at the first time you set up Windows for
Workgroups on your hard disk:
1) Select "Network Setup" from Windows Program Manager's Network group.
2) From the "Network Setup" window, select "Drivers..." button.
3) When the "Network Drivers" windows shows, choose "Add Adapter..."
button.
4) From the "Add Network Adapter" window, select "Unlisted or Updated
Network Adapter".
5) When the "Install Driver" window shows, insert the Ethernet Driver
Disk to any floppy, for example A:, and then enter "A:\WFW311" and
select OK.
6) From the "Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter" window, choose
"E2k/E1k/PCMCIA Ethernet".
7) After Windows for Workgroups has read the driver, the "E2k/E1k/
PCMCIA Ethernet" window will be displayed again.
8) From the "Network Drivers" window, select the "Close" button.
9) When returning to the "Network Setup" window , select "Continue".
* If you have installed Windows for Workgroups, and you want to change
the network adapter to E2k/E1k/PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter, do as follows
to configure your card.
1) Select "Network Setup" from Windows Program Manager's Network group.
2) From the "Network Setup" window, select "Drivers...".
3) From the "Network Drivers" window, select "Add Adapter..." button.
4) From the "Add Network Adapter" window, select "Adapters".
5) From the "Network Adapters" window, select the "Remove" button to
discard the previous settings.
6) Select the "Add" button. When the "Add Network Adapter" window is
displayed, choose "Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter".
7) When the "Install Driver" window shows, insert the Ethernet Driver
Disk to any floppy, for example A:, and then enter "A:\WFW311" and
select OK.
8) When the "Unlisted Or Updated Network Adapter" window appears again,
choose "E2k/E1k/PCMCIA Ethernet".
9) After Windows for Workgroups has read the driver, the "E2k/E1k/
PCMCIA Ethernet" window will be redisplayed.
10) From the "Network Adapters" window, select the "Close" button.
11) When returning to the "Network Setup" window, select OK.
3.2 Installing Drivers for Windows for Workgroup on NetWare Workstations
1) Install drivers for Windows for Workgroups (i.e., RETH.DOS and
RETH.386) following the procedure described above.
2) Start Windows for Workgroups 3.11.
3) Locate Novell Workstation for DOS/Windows diskette to install the
network client driver for Windows (i.e., \NETWARE\DOSODI\RETH.COM).
The "Network Tools" group will list on the desktop, and the direc-
tory \NWCLIENT and STARTNET.BAT will be created on your hard disk.

4) Double-click the "Network Setup" icon in the Network Setup group;
then select the "Network Setup" button in the window to add an
appriate Novell NetWare workstation shell. You will see "Microsoft
Windows Network [version 3.11]" and "Novell NetWare [workstation
shell x.x]" in the window.
5) Exit Window for Workgroups 3.11. Then, use any text editor to add
"LASTDRIVE=Z" to CONFIG.SYS and "CALL STARTNET.BAT" to AUTOEXEC.BAT.
(STARTNET.BAT should exist in the \NWCLIENT directory.)
6) Reboot your PC.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
