Novell NetWare OS/2 ODI Client Installation Notes for the
Microdyne NE10/100 ISA Adapter

Updated February 1997
*******************************************************************

If your system is not Plug and Play compatible, you must run the
CONFIG program before starting operating system setup of
the adapter. For more information, type GENERAL.TXT in \GENERAL
or view the Plug and Play Notes section of README - General
Introduction. CONFIG must be run under DOS.

NE10/100 ISA Driver Installation
======================================

The Novell OS/2 Requester should be used to install the OS/2 ODI
client driver. Load the NetWare OS/2 ODI client driver from the
OS/2 CONFIG.SYS. See the Novell NetWare Requester OS/2 Installation
documentation for more information.

After installing the OS/2 Requester, follow the steps listed
below:

1. Using the Netware OS/2 disks provided by Novell, install the
Netware OS/2 Requester files on the client. Follow the
instructions displayed to configure the Netware OS/2 Requester
for a Netware-supported LAN adapter card.

If the Netware-supported LAN adapter card contains the Microdyne
adapter option, select it, otherwise select other LAN adapter.

2. Copy the OS/2 ODI driver (NE100I.OS2) from the NE10/100 ISA disk
driver disk to the C:\NETWARE directory of the boot drive using
the path drive:\NWCLIENT.OS2, where drive = A or B.

3. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file and replace the Netware-supported
LAN adapter driver with the name of the OS/2 ODI driver. For example:

    DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\NE100I.SYS

If the Novell OS/2 Requester is used to install the driver, the
Requester will automatically make modifications to the CONFIG.SYS
file. There is an example of the CONFIG.SYS file in the OS2
directory on the disk.

The default settings may be modified when the driver loads by
creating the file NET.CFG. Refer to the example NET.CFG file
supplied. Also, refer to the Novell Netware Requester OS/2
Installation documentation for more information on configuring the
NET.CFG file.

4. Reboot the system.

The installation of the NetWare OS/2 ODI client driver is now
complete.

Note: To view the available keyword values supported by the NE10/100
adapter, go back to the main menu of README and select Keywords or
type the KEYWORDS.TXT file in the GENERAL directory.
The keywords are also listed in the example NET.CFG file.
