K1 Installation Tips

If you have a driver installed for this camera already and it is functioning, there is no need to upgrade. There have been no new driver releases for this camera since the one you have installed.

If there is no driver installed, follow these steps:

1)	Extract all files from the driver.zip file into c:\temp\
2)	Plug the K1 into your computer.
3)	The "Found New Hardware Wizard" should appear.*
4)	Choose the “Install from a list or specific location” or Advanced option. Click next.
5)	Choose the “Search for the best driver in these locations” option.
6)	Place a check mark in the box beside “Include this location in the search”.
7)	In the box under “Include this location in the search” type C:\temp\
8)	Click next.
9)	If a window with the title, "Hardware Installation" appears click on the "Continue Anyway” button. **
10)	Click Finish.
11)	If the “New Hardware Wizard” reappears repeat step 4 thru 8 again.
12)	If the computer states “Cannot install this Hardware” click finish. ***

* If the hardware wizard does not appear, attempt to use another USB port. Alternatively refer to Microsoft’s website on how to use device manager to update hardware drivers.
** This does not mean that the driver will cause instability in your system. The driver has been tested in our labs and will work.
*** Though the computer claims that the hardware has not been installed you will find that your camera has been installed properly. This failure appears due to a small bug in the operating system detecting the camera twice instead of once.
