HPVGSet version 2.1
===================
Introduction :
==============
HPVGSet can be run in an interactive mode or a command line
mode.
For a list of command line options, please refer to the file
HPDDSet.doc.
Interactive Mode :
==================
HPVGSet is run in interactive mode if no options are specified on the
command line.
The use of any other option(s) will force HPVGSet to run
in command line mode.
To run HPVGSet in interactive mode.
Type [path]:HPVGSet
Notes :
=======
HPVGSet can only be run under DOS or DOS Prompt window from Window3.x or
Windows 95.
It is strongly recommended to not use HPVGSet in a DOS window under
Windows 95. Doing so may corrupt the adapter's EEPROM.
This version of HPVGSet will not run in a DOS Prompt window from Windows NT.
Since this version only runs in DOS mode, memory mapping in High memory
regions (above 1Mbyte) cannot be tested.
Before running HPVGSet you must remove any of the HP network drivers.
Trying to alter the configuration of a network adapter that is bound to a
driver will lock your system.
On EISA machines, you must run the EISA configuration utility to allocate
system resources prior to running HPVGSet.
The memory map test cannot be performed on memory mapping in high
memory regions. The loopback test is sufficient to
provide a hardware test of the adapter's memory system, but it does
not guarantee that memory conflicts will not occur between the
adapter and the system it is installed in.
For cards in EISA and PCI systems, it is recommended to keep the IRQ
trigger mode set to "Level".
For PCI systems, HP recommends using Plug and Play mode.
