The USB 2.0 driver was just finalized by chip vendor, Via Technology. 
Due to function conflict in Micro Soft Win 9x O.S issue, we won't 
implement auto installation function in all Micro Soft O.S untill 
further validation. Users are requested to have their own manual 
driver installation as below steps,

Driver Installation Procedure for Windows 2000 / Windows XP

How to Update the USB 2.0 Driver in Windows 2000
==============================================================================================
1.  To open Device Manager, click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click System. 
     On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager, and open the Properties for your Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller in 
     Device Manager.

2.  Right-click the Driver tab, and then click Update driver.

3.  In the "Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard" page, click "next".

4.  In the "Install Hardware Device Drivers" page, check" Search for a suitable driver..." which is the default setting, then click 
    "next".

5.  In the "Locate Drivers Files" page, check the location from which you want to install the driver, floppy, CD-ROM, or Specify
     a location. If you choose "specify a location", then you should type in the path in the next page and click "OK".

6.  In the "Drivers Files Search Results" page,  Windows2000 should locate the driver you specified, and will display the path in 
     the window. Just click "Next". 

7.  In the next page which asks whether you want to install the driver, just click "yes".

8.  The driver will be installed. A final window will be displayed:"Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard." 
    At this window, just select "Finish".

How to Update the USB 2.0 Driver in Windows XP
==============================================================================================
1.  To open Device Manager, click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click 
     System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager, and open the Properties for your Universal Serial Bus (USB) 
     Controller in Device Manager.

2.  Right-click the Driver tab, and then click Update driver.

3.  After the Hardware Update Wizard starts, click "Install from a list or specific location" and then click Next.

4.  Select the locations you wish to search for the updated driver files.
    If the updated USB2.0 driver that you want to install is located in a folder on the hard disk, 
    then check "Include this location in the search" and click Browse to select that folder.

    Note: If the updated driver is not located on a CD or floppy disk, then uncheck the "Search removable media" 
             box to speed the search process.

5.  Click Next to begin the search.

6.  The Hardware Update wizard will search the selected locations for the updated display driver.  
    If Windows XP finds a driver that it determines to be the best match for your hardware
    and is better than the currently installed driver, the installation will begin.

    Note: If you are installing a driver that has not yet passed Windows Logo testing for compatibility with Windows XP, 
             a warning message will appear. If you wish to continue with the driver installation, click Continue Anyway.
         
          A System Restore point will be automatically created by Windows XP before installing any unsigned driver files.

7.  Once all the driver files have been copied, click Finish.
     You will then be prompted to restart your computer to complete the driver installation.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
