Hello, Attached is the XP driver for the HPT366. Extract the zip file to a floppy diskette. Use F6 to install the HPT366 driver during XP setup. XP will prompt you to press this key to add a new device. XP will continue to copy files, then post a new screen that asks you to press "s" to install the driver. Insert the floppy, press the "s" key, then follow XP's prompts. If you are upgrading Win98 or ME, you may first have to remove the current Win98 drivers. To remove these drivers, delete the following files: You can use the Windows search option, or look in the following directories: hpt366.mpd hptpwr.vxd Both of these files are found in c:\windows\system\iosubsys hpt366.inf (this may also be listed using the full controller name) This file is located in c:\windows\inf\other After deleting these files, remove the 2 HPT366 entries from Device Manager (under SCSI controllers). After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
